This offers j)ositive evidence of the popularity of the sport. Only those fisli weighing 20 pounds or over apjiear in the list. Yet, it is known that a large number were caught weighing up to 2)5 pounds of whicli there is no record. For instance, Mr. Piiillco, during October, November iind December, caught some 10 stripers weighing from 15 to 25 pounds in the San Joaquin River. No accurate weight record was made of his Fig. 91.
