Arrokoth, illustration. Arrokoth was the first Kuiper Belt Object to be observed by the New Horizons spacecraft after its encounter with Pluto. A remnant of the material that formed the Solar System, it preserves the act of accretion, where two bodies have collided and stuck together. When this happened billions of times, entire planets were formed.
