The belfry of Bruges, or Belfort, is a medieval bell tower in the historical center of Bruges, Belgium. To the sides and back of the tower stands the former market hall, with an inner courtyard. The belfry is also known as the Halletoren (tower of the halls). Bruges' historic city center is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North".
