Unveiling the cenotaph, London, on Armistice Day 1920. The coffin of the unknown warrior is on the gun carriage ready for transportation to Westminster Abbey where the body was laid to the morning of 11 November 1920, the casket was placed onto a gun carriage of the Royal Horse Artillery and pulled through the city by six horses through numerous silent crowds. The cenotaph in the UK that stands in Whitehall, London, was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens to replace an identical wood and plaster cenotaph erected in 1919 for the Allied Victory Parade. It's a Grade I listed building .
