From the nature of this question it is inferred that a small, ornamental, quick growing hedge is desired. Cali- fornia privet, (Ligustrura Californi- cum), barberry (Berberis vulgaris var. atropurpurea) and the hardy orange (Citrus trifoilata) are the leading shrubs for this purpose in this lati- tude, the privet being the most popu- lar.
