The cut of Cecile Brunner roses has been increasing and the same is true of Ophelia and Hadley. One grower notes a big increase in the cutting of Eussell. Orchids are in heavier supply and the cut of bouvardias shows a slight in- crease. Lily of the valley is plentiful and gypsophila is increasing in quantity. .Stephanotis is plentiful at present. Various Notes. An elaborate decoration was handled last week for the Winter Garden thea- ter by Melb)''s Flower Shop. Autumn foliage and gladioli we're the main items featured. Dr. Walter A. Moore, of the Holly- wood CJardens, was a week-end visitor on Vancouver island, where relatives are spending some time. Mrs. Alois Hellenthal is now in Brit- ish Columbia, where she has .ioined her family on a two weeks' vacation trip. Still another vacationist at present is Felix Kosaia, who has gone to Sol- due, where he will spend three weeks. Mrs. Eosaia is in charge of the business during his absence. Some nice Colum- bia roses have been featured in recent window showings at this shop. A better demand for ferns, especially the smaller items, is reported by the Art Floral Co., and from now on a steady increase is anticipated. William Goldsbary is back from a trip to Vancouver and Victoria for the A. L. Randall Co., of Chicago, and ad- vises that he found general business good across the line.
