City of Edinburgh, Scotland. The Charles Robert Cockerell and William Henry Playfair designed, and unfinished, Greek Athenian Acropolis on Edinburgh’s Calton Hill. The monument is the National Monument of Scotland and is a memorial to Scottish soldiers and sailors, who perished in the Napoleonic wars. Finance for the completion of the memorial project was never achieved.
