I havenever cared much for the calendar; but thesedates, as well as this trade, loom up in the his-tory of mankind. It was a time when out oftea they made most momentous history. Theyoung colonies rebelled at the principle of tax-ation without representation, and the spirit ofrebellion put its best foot forward in December,1773, when it repelled British tea and taxes byhurling into Boston harbor some 340 chests oftea, and the war of the Revolution was on.
