THE Board of Trade, of Mitchell, Ont.,has just issued a small booklet givinga resume of the proceedings at therecent annual meeting, together with in-teresting information regarding the town. Mitchell is a town of 2,200, twelve milesfrom Stratford, on the Buffalo and LakeHuron division of the It has fine,wide streets, a first-class system of water-works for fire protection, and an arc electriclight system. The debenture debt of thetown is $36,780, on an assessed valuation of$682,000. It has a high school, a publicschool, a public library of 3,000 volumes,and two weekly newspapers. It is an out-post for the collection of duties, has fourhotels, a branch of the Merchants Bank, apost office, two telegraph offices, and anopera house capable of holding goopeople.
