Its arma-ment consisted of three light pieces of builder and first commander was Capt. JohnWhistler, a native of Ireland who had surrenderedwith Burgoyne, at Saratoga,, N. Y., and whosubsequently became an American citizen, andserved with distinction throughout the War of1812. He was succeeded, in 1810, by Heald.
