Weak Heels. If from any cause there has been muchfever in the feet for some time, in conse-quence of being driven on hard roads, or being partially foundered,there will be diminished supply of horn, so that the wall will notonly grow slower, but thinner. (See reference to inflammation andFigs. 555, 556.) Sometimes the heels are cut down so closely that should theshoe work loose, and wear or break down the quarters, it would be.
