The other rooms were decorated with Sunburst and My Maryland roses in profusion. The bride's table was decorated with an immense basket of White Killarney roses and sixteen small baskets of roses and valley. George B. Hart has placed a good- sized McCray ice-box in the front part of his store. The general committee of the Koches- ter Florists' Association, at a meet- ing held at Powers' hotel, Thursday evening, September 25, voted to aban- don the flower show which was to be held in November. The decision came as a complete surprise to all but the downtown florists, whose vote decided the issue. Committees had been ap- pointed, and the heads had gone so far as to enlist the help of the state conservation commission, the park board, the chamber of commerce and others who have large conservatories. The reason for calling off the show this year was said to be the belief that the public was not enthusiastic enough to support such an event oftener than once in two years. It was urged that the undertaking is at all times a bad financial risk, since the sum repre- sented in the displays is seldom equaled and never exceeded by the re- ceipts of the show, and that to under- take
