The Wabash was a steam frigate of the first rating. Xo finer vessel could have been found in any foreign navy. Shedisplaced 3,274 tons, carried two 10-inch pivot guns on her spar-deck and a broadside of fourteen 8-inchguns; on her gun-deck she carried twenty-eight 9-inch guns and two 12-pounders.
