Pope, whoenlarged them, and incorporated the Hartford Rubber Com-pany. The reclaiming of rubber from worn-out goods datesfrom the time that the success of vulcanization was demon-strated. The factory at Naugatuck operated by the UnitedStates Rubber Company is the largest and most complete inthe world. Connecticut had in 1900 twenty-five establish- 262.
