A small group of protesters demonstrated outside the Embassy of Qatar against the mistreatment of unskilled and semi-skilled expatriate workers engaged in various infrastructure projects for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The workers drawn from Asian nations are being subjected to conditions tantamount to slavery, where wages are low and their passports are confiscated by employers.
