Clockwise from top: diazepam, flurazepam, lorazepam, temazepam, and nitrazepam. The flurazepam is marketed here by the Meda pharmaceutical company under the trade name Dalmane. The others are generic drug formulations. The drugs shown here have varying potencies and durations and are also known by various trade names ( diazepam is also known as Valium and Diastat). Lorazepam is the most potent benzodiazepine shown here. Flurazepam is used for its long-lasting effects.
