A pair of splendid pistols, South German, ca. 1780. Blued barrels with ten groove rifled bores in mm calibre. Banana lockplates, openworked side plates. Lightly carved walnut stocks with iron furniture. The breech section of the barrels, the locks, side plates and furnitures are worked en suite with cut vine decoration on a gold-filled background. Wooden ramrods with iron tips. One pistol has a break above the pommel cap.
