In the peripheral nerves parenchy-matous degeneration takes place in the terminals and terminalfibers and proceed toward the center. The senile changes in the eye are sclerosis of the lens andweakening of the muscles of accommodation; in the ear thereis waste of the drum and a change in the auditory nerves; inthe nose there is atrophy of the Schneiderian membrane.
