An 8-day marine chronometer by the court chronometer maker Dent in London, circa 1875. Gilt brass case and gimbal, silver-plated dial with black marks. Maker's name with English and Russian crown, small second with factory number "31201" on the 6-o'clock, the 56 hour reserve indicator at the 12-o'clock position, gilt hands. Complete with key in a three-piece wooden case with carrying handles and maker's label with matching numbers.
