Sgt. Nicholas Mitchell with the 338th Medical Brigade placed "Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), First Runner Up" in the 3d MCDS Best Warrior Competition and was awarded the Army Achievement Medal (AAM) by the 3d MCDS commanding general. The competition consisted of an Army Combat Fitness Test, day and night land navigation, tactical combat casualty care scenarios, rifle marksmanship, 12-mile foot march carrying a 35 pound backpack, along with a written essay and exam, held April 7-10, 2021 at Ft. McClellan, Ala.
