In 1935, an unknown Japanese photographer photographed this ancient pagoda of the Liao Dynasty(907–1125) in Lingyuan Shibali Fort in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, which stood in the field after the erosion of wind and rain. The pagoda still exists, and a recent restoration has changed its appearance considerably. (The photo is from my private collection)
