Market Buildings 2018 and Borough Arms number 3764
To the right of the famous "Market Buildings" is a small frontage of "The Borough" which, in my day, was always The Borough Arms. In this shot it can be picked out by the red canopy. The pub frontage is narrow (5m) and only the width of the bow window above it, topped with what looks at first to be a building top. The building extends upwards with marble columns imitating but not copying exactly those on the market building (same architect). At the very top, on the gable facing us, is a carved area of stone proclaiming "Borough Arms" although the OUG is badly worn.
