Disappointment when we were mustered out to find that theGovernment compelled us to pay our own transportation fromDenver to Fort Leavenworth, and upon that point we havebeen disappointed ever since. But with all our disappointments we felt to thank God whenwe received our spread-eagles in the form of a discharge as apermit from the Government admitting that we were oncemore free men at liberty to wander as we choose, and free frommilitary orders and military 286
