Amaia Unanue-Colon is is a corporal in the United States Marine Corps. At 19, she enlisted as a Marine combat correspondent from her home near Sebring, Florida after graduating from Sebring High School in 2013. She is currently attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), underway in the Pacific Ocean. The Marines and Sailors of the 31st MEU specilize in a variety of combat arms and combat enabling specialties. The 31st MEU regularly patrols the Indo-Asia-Pacific region aboard the Navy vessels of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group. The 31
