The affection of the outer genitals may be divided intotwo parts: namely, one large tumor originating in the right labiumminus, and two marked indurative processes affecting both labiamajora. The tumor of the right labium minus measures three anda quarter inches from the pedicle to its top, two and a half inchesin depth, and three inches in width. This tumor is extremely hardand shows normal skin in its outer surface; whereas on its lowersurface, near the pedicle, it presents deeply ulcerated areas. Theleft labium minus is very hard, parchment-like, sausage-shaped. 422 ARTHUR STEIN,. SYPHILOMA VULVAE. 423 nearly two inches long, and indurated, but shows no ulcerativeareas. The right labium majus is transformed into a sausage-shaped massthree and a half inches long. Its lower portion, comprising abouttwo-thirds of the entire labium, is markedly indurated and ulcer-ated. The left labium majus is similarly affected with markedulceration in a somewhat lesser degree. This indurative processoccupies also the entire perineum extending down as far as the anus,and showing several condylomata-like growths.
