The contestwas full of thrills and heart trobs for Tiger and Mines supporters alike. Anytime during the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth innings each team had achance to win the game in an easy fashion, only to be stopped by some classyperformance by the other nine. The game was a real baseball classicfor eight innings. Ed Hughes, occupy-ing the mound for the Black and Gold,did not allow a single hit for five in-nings. Wildness put him in a hole onseveral occasions but any chance for a Tigers tried hard in theic
