Y. One of the notable funeral pieces made in this section lately was a hand- some 7-foot standing cross, ordered by the state legislature for the funeral of Thomas C. Piatt, formerly United States senator from this state. The funeral was held at Oswego, March 9, and was attended by committees repre- senting the two branches of the legis- lature, and by prominent leaders in the republican party.
