Fuel cell scooter research. Aprilia fuel cell scooter having its fuel cell power supply installed during testing. The scooter is on a roller test bench, on which it has its front wheel clamped and its rear wheel (which powers it) on rollers. This allows researchers to find out how far the scooter can travel under various conditions, and also to study the effect of wear and tear from use. The fuel cell is environmentally friendly as it runs on hydrogen, combining it with oxygen in the air to produce electricity, with water as the only waste product. Photographed in Italy.
