A woman and her child. members of the Tamaquito community, living near the Cerrejon open cast coal mine. The community is composed of 38 families and defines itself with the name "Wayuu". They live from agriculture and have lived in the area since long before the company started the mining operations. The mine has not only transformed the traditional life of Wayuu people but also severely contaminated their environment. Currently, the people of the community have no access to education and health.
