Quiet View Along the Riva dei Sette Martiri With Waterfront Buildings, Deserted Riva and Distant Campanile di San Marco, Castello, Venice, Italy

The Riva dei Sette Martiri or bank of the Seven Martyrs is a tranquil waterfront area for most of the year. It is in the Castello district and runs along the San Marco Basin. It is relatively modern being built in the nineteen thirties, replacing several historic shipyards where vessels had been built over hundreds of years. It connects the Piazza San Marco with Venice's Public Garden. Scanned Fuji transparency (c2003).
