Dedicated to John Hick-man in 1873, it has ever since beengreatly appreciated by all lovers of thenoble pastime of huntynge with run-nynge houndes. The late John regarded it so highly that heunhesitatingly assigned it a superiorplace to the celebrated blank verse quarto called the Chase,which appeared in 1735.
