The medieval village of Èze in southeastern France.

The medieval village of Èze in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France stands on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean coast a short distance to the east of the city of Nice on the Côte d'azur. The church which stands prominently on the hill side is Notre Dame de l’Assomption (Our Lady of the Assumption) and was built by an Italian architect Antonio Spinelli between 1764 and 1778. Possessing fine views of the Mediterranean Sea and containing a variety of small shops, art galleries, hotels and restaurants the village has become a popular tourist attraction.
