Ouen’s Bay, of which The Barge Aground is the only survivor. This quirky 1930s folly is built in the shape of a grounded boat overlooking the wonderful sunsets that dominate summer evenings in St Ouen. The rooms have been restored to their pre-war style but with all the modern convenience you would expect for your stay with us. A central sitting room welcomes you as you enter the accommodation and immediately transports you back to a less urgent time. Two bedrooms, each containing adult bunks, are situated at the stern end of the Barge, whilst the kitchen and Bathroom are at the prow. Wooden shutters keep the building cool in hot days and private when required. Restored wooden floors are covered in rugs finishing the overall feel of 1930s Jersey. Double doors give out on to a paved area, ideal for breakfast, lunch or dinner or just to sun yourself surrounded by some of Jersey most striking views. There are steps leading down to the sea wall with a convenient flight of steps to the beach. The Barge Aground will sleep two couples or a family of four comfortably. It is the perfect accommodation for people wanting good access to St Ouen’s beach and surfing that is renowned throughout Europe.
