The works weretested on January 27, 1890, and accepted by the village issue of bonds was not quite sufficient for the undertaking and anadditional loan of $8,000 was procured. A pumping house and requi-site machinery were erected and William Rodgers chosen chief engi-neer and superintendent at a salary of $50 a month. All of the princi-pal streets were piped and sufficient hydrants put in to provide adequatehie
