The cucumbers should be gathered when large enough for use, whether required or not ; if left to ripen, it destroys their productiveness. For pickles, plant from June until the middle of July. Arlillg'ton White Spine Forcing' (see cut). A strain of White Spine which has been improved through careful selec- tion, with a view to use for forcing in hot-houses and frames. Pkt., 10 cts.; oz., 25 cts ; \ lb., 75 cts. Emerjvltl. This is the most valuable Cucumber. Has all the good qualities of the White Spine, with the additional advantage of having a rich dark green color during the enlire period of its growth. The vines are exceedingly productive, fruits set early and are very handsome, long and straight, entirely free from spines. In quality, fine, being very solid, crisp, tender and of pleasing flavor.
