About 1/4 M- t0 the r- from the cross-road immediatelybeyond the amphitheatre the traveller reaches the monastery (twopictures by Brea in the chapel), re-erected in 1543 after itsdestruction by the Turks. It stands on the site of the Cemenelium, to which the above-mentioned amphitheatreand a quadrangular structure, commonly termed a Temple ofApollo, appertained. Traces of baths etc have also Wontd
