Flinders Chase National Park, Kangaroo Island, South Australia

Kangaroo Island sits in the wild Southern Ocean off the coast of South Australia and is home to many unique plant and animal species and interesting geological formations. Flinders Chase National Park comprises most of the western side of the island. 48% of the island was devastated by the 2020 bushfires. The Remarkable rocks are a collection of granite boulders shaped by 500 million years of erosion that appear to "balance" above the Southern Ocean. Some are covered in photogenic orange lichen.
