Eastcheap, London UK, 4 September 2013. The building officially known as 20 Fenchurch Street or, more commonly, the "Walkie Talkie" building has earned the unenviable reputation of reflecting afternoon sunlight down onto the street due to its concave glass exterior. The concentrated patches of light produced searing temperatures which were apparently responsible for melting the saddles of parked bicycles and parts of parked cars. Many office workers came out to witness this phenomenon. Temporary scaffolding has begun to be erected to diffuse the light.
