In case the solid beds are retained, the returns may be partly on the walls and the others on the sides of the beds. OBSTRUCTED CIECULATION. I am taking the liberty of asking you what is wrong with my heating system. The boiler is sixteen feet long and contains fifty-six 3-inch flues. It is located in a basement ad- joining the greenhouses on the north. The steam is returned to the boiler by means of two No. 12 Detroit return traps, with a receiver. The return from the greenhouses is 4-inch, re- duced to 2V^-inch where it enters the trap receiver. The main is 4-inch, with a pressure-reducing valve on it. We are carrying about thirty pounds of steam on the boiler and ten pounds of steam on the houses. I have five houses, all of which have 7-foot side walls.
