Gabriel Rufian, number two on the list but in reality first because of the impediment to Oriol Junqueras to freely exercise the position seen during the election night receiving congratulations for the good results. Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) has achieved for the first time more than one million votes which has placed it as the most voted party in Catalonia in the elections to the government of Spain. It is significant that Oriol Junqueras, leader of ERC and first on the electoral list, is serving pre-trial detention accused of sedition.
