Montreal STOVES, RANGES, ETC.—As de-finitely indicated in HARDWARE ANDMETAL last week, the market for stovesand ranges has been subject to suchfirmness of tone that an advance wasjustified. The advance has taken place,or will have taken place by the time thisreaches type. Ranges and stoves, heat-ers, etc., have undergone a 10 per cent,advance for most regular lines: Thereare a few exceptions to the 10 per Bernard Partridge, in. the Honor of Our Air Services ratio of advance, these being one or twopopular lines of lower-priced stoves,heaters, and ranges, which have beenadvanced only 5 per cent.
