Climbing Clotilde Soupert, see page 60 Special Attention We are often asked the size Roses most prefer- able, and our invariable response is that that is a matter that can only be decided by the pur- chaser. Our one-year-old Roses give splendid results, and the only difference between them and the two-year-old, as well as the three- and four-year-old plants, is in the comparative yield of flowers. The two-year-old Roses, of course, produce a larger quantity of flowers the first year, while the three- and four-year-old Roses for immediate effect are desirable; but, no matter which size is planted, the results will be found very satisfactory. Owing to the reasonable price at which we sell one-year-old plants it is possible, for a small sum, to purchase quite a collection; and, while our sales of the larger Roses have in- creased very rapidly in the past few years, we find the demand for the one-year-old Roses has in no way diminished. We call parti--alar attention to our "Iron-Clad Roses," offered on pages 51 to 54. They are magnificent specimens, such as cannot be had elsewhere. The stock is limited and we advise early ordering. What We Don't Sell We don't sell "little slips," nor Holland-grown Roses. We don't GROW, much less sell, Roses which have had the life forced out of them for their flowers and afterwards sold to you as "extra-heavy two-and three-year-old ; We can buy—and so can you—a million such plants of American Beauty, as well as all the leading forcing varieties, for 3 cts. and 4 cts. each, but no one wants these plants at any price; they have served their purpose and are worthless. Yet there are dealers who tell you that these are the plants to buy at 25 cts. and 50 cts. each, and they will pay the expressage. And well they might. We would not have them cost FREE and expressage paid. We would prefer "little ; What We Do Sell
