Choosing snow over ice on steep downhill hike by my sister and her dog; Sandia Mountains of New Mexico - USA
After hiking for a time on Del Agua (water) Trail in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico near Albuquerque, we decided we had had enough of the steep snowy trail and were headed back down when I took this shot of my 77 year old sister and her dog, Goldi as they negotiated a particularly steep snowy section. This was February but as is typical in New Mexico it was warm enough to take off our jackets and hike in long sleeve shirts. I shot hand held at F 16, Sp 320 and ISO 800.
