A ten per cent, grade, , a rise of ten feet in every one hundred feet of drive, should be the maximum. A line in between these two should be established. In mountainous countries, of course, it is often necessary to establish a twelve to fifteen per cent, grade. On adjoining properties (Fig. 30) it is possible at times to have a party drive and turn, allowing an entrance to both properties from two streets, thereby affording a maximum of convenience with econ- omy of space.
