Valium (diazepam), 10 mg tablets. Diazepam is used to relieve anxiety, muscle spasms, and seizures and to control agitation caused by alcohol withdrawal. Effects include anxiolysis, pain relief, sedation or somnolence, cognitive/memory impairment, as well as in some instances euphoria, dissociation, muscle relaxation, lowered blood pressure or heart rate, respiratory depression, and anticonvulsant effects; complete anesthesia or death at can result at high doses.
