Tree slender, upright, light colored wood, fruit large, pale yellow, with rich blush, * llcsh white, tender, good and verj- beautiful. July. V*Shielils. A new crab froni'v/iscousin. Tree free from blight and a vigorous grower, fruit large to verj- large, red, splashed -tvith yellow. Transcendent. Tree productive, fruit from one and a half to two inches in diameter, excellent for sauce and pies, and is also a good eating apple; skin yellow, striped with red; vig. August and Sept. Large, aver aging one and a half to two inches in di- ameter; skin smooth, glossy green, striped and splashed with carmine; flesh firm, juicy and rich; a greatbearer and T e r y_ hardy. Tree a vigorous, handsome grower, with dark green, glossy foliage. Aug. and Whitxey Cras. PBARS. The growing of this valuable fruit for both home and market purposes cannot be too strongly urged. It far exceeds the apple in its melting, juicy texture, rich refined flavor, and the range of varieties is such that by a judicious selection, the ripening season beginning in July can be con- tinued in succession into winter. It is a mistaken opinion among some persons that standard pears are a long time coming into bearing.
