Wind Turbine blade, hot air balloon & Old freight yard buildings in grounds of German Museum of Science & Technology in Kreuzberg, Berlin. The buildings were designed by architect Franz Heinrich Schwechten on the south bank of the Landwehr Canal to allow the unloading of goods from railway wagons. Only the eastern administration block remains, has been restored and it houses 'Spectrum', the Berlin Science Centre part of the German Museum of Technology. Its western twin was badly damaged in World War 2 and was demolished in 1959. The covered goods-handling buildings on the east also survived and are used by small industrial concerns. The buildings on the west of the ‘unloading’ road are ruins. The large museum park provides a pleasant walking area interspersed with rusty old rail tracks, birch trees, a pond, two windmills, an old water tower and brewery The old locomotive depot engine sheds have been restored and also incorporated into the German Museum of Technology.
