A model 1868 helmet for senior military officials., Leather skull, sweatband, and inset black silk lining with the woven manufacturer's label "Hinzelmann München". Peaks covered with red and green. Fine, silver-plated furniture. Chin strap with officer style, terminal links on lion heads. Original bearskin crest in fine condition. Aside from minor denting in the lacquer, a deluxe version of a rare helmet. Only about 400 senior military officials with the regiments wore this type of helmet. Cf.
