GIRLS BASKET BALL Our greatest aim was to have a good basket ball team. More interestwas shown in basket ball this year than ever before. Although the numberwho played was small yet they were eager and determined to learn the game. A number of very interesting games were played within the first contest of the year was in answer to a challenge by the Freshmen toplay any other girls team in school. Before the game the idea was quiteprevalent that the Freshmen would be no more when the game was a surprise they came to the front and took the victory. The two girlssocieties had a very evenly contested game which caused much excitementfrom the crowd on account of the determination of winning manifested byboth teams, during the last few minutes. The Matheans won the laurels. Since the Buckeye state usually has a larger representation attendingcollege in the Hoosier state, there is an annual basket ball game representingthe two states.
