Six-ribbed vault in the presbytery of medieval St Leonard's church, Breg ob Kokri, Preddvor, Gorenjska region, Slovenia

One of the best preserved medieval church interiors in Slovenia. Detailed here is the six-ribbed vault dating from the late 17th century. The church, in a remote rural village, is famous for its unique medieval painted ceiling panels, (1470-1480) discovered by chance in 1971. It also features a triumphal arch and gilded altar depicting George and the Dragon, St Leonard, and St Nicolas. Two of the original painted glass windows were stolen in recent times.
